I feel like that is important to remember. Because one day a lot of people will distance themselves from this very obvious, very much on the record monopsony and authoritarianism and claim it was all a conservative boogeyman.

I had a liberal centrist — a professional — once tell me that they engage with more diversity at a Bari Weiss dinner party than they do in any mainstream media event.

I mention this because, just as it is true in politics at the moment, some of the calls are coming from inside the house.

Something fundamental has broken in the brains of elites. No matter how many op-eds they read, write and publish denouncing identity politics, they still think it's a heterodox viewpoint you can't find anywhere.

Amy Coney Barrett did a big sit-down interview with Baseball Crank over at the National Review, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but she actually has my sympathies for having to force a laugh after Crank opened their conversation with this

I'm also reminded of the "whistleblower" report about abuses at a Missouri gender clinic, the author of which is now just a full-time anti-transgender lobbyist, that fell apart the moment any reporter tried to verify it

perhaps the biggest story TFPever ran was a catastrophically shoddy argument that George Floyd ackshully died of an overdose. When confronted with irrefutable evidence that the piece was simply wrong, Weiss didn’t take it down, she asked her critic, @radleybalko.bsky.social, to come on a podcast.

Bari Weiss introduced herself to CBS News staff today on the network's 9AM call, saying she wants to "win," which requires restoring trust to CBS. She also said she was excited for staff to get to know the Free Press, and ended her remarks by saying: "Let's do the fucking news."
