Talk about climate change. Demand action. Disrupt traffic.

OUR GOALS: 🧵

- A climate wealth tax to fund policies ambitious enough to reach net zero by 2050
- 100% renewable electricity generation
- Incentives for electric cars and driving less
There will be opposition to the fast track regardless of it passing.

People vote for trump because life is hard; they think he'll fix it.

The key to keeping fascists like him (looking at you #nzpol) is actually fixing it.

Time for wealth distribution and robust, equitable public services.

Heard the one about NZ Dairy having the lowest carbon footprint?

The police officer arresting me said he would be more worried about climate change if he had time to think about it.

We'd all be protesting like this if we gave it the thought it deserves.

I was arrested for blocking traffic this morning.

I was warned to move and could have driven away without penalty.

You can do that too.

I'll tell you how. 6% wind power. <1% solar power.

We don't need coal and gas, they *want* coal and gas.

The point of a protest is exactly that. If it's of sufficient size that if it went pitchforks and torches on the government, the police couldn't stop it. They govern by our granting of legitimacy. This government is fast destroying it's legitimacy which is very bad for ongoing democracy.
