I wrote about my experiences being sexually exploited as a child, and what we need to do to make sure AI doesn’t make that a reality for millions of children.

When the AI boom began, copywriters were singled out as one of the jobs most vulnerable to AI. Now, three years later, I wanted to hear from workers on the frontlines of the industry, to hear what had actually taken place on the ground.

For many, it was even worse than they'd feared.
"I was forced to use AI until the day I was laid off." Copywriters reveal how AI has decimated their industry
Copywriters were one of the first to have their jobs targeted by AI firms. These are their stories, three years into the AI era.

A good reason to block someone the very first time they start hedging about the usefulness of generative AI is that this keeps you from seeing them 6 months later shrieking about why quantum theory demands they eat their family.

Okay, Bluesky, you’re always good for this. Is there a word in German or any other language for this specific anguish?
I suspect there might be a word in German for the specific pain when you watch terrible things happening in a place you once lived in and remember with love
I watched the Berkeley Hills fire on tv news in LA and it was simply excruciating
But at least that was basically nature and not human evil

It’s Friday. Find some joy - even if the working week is a cynical construct. Sun’s out, you’re alive today. Do a thing that makes you happy. Have a coffee. A cake. Meet a friend. Go for a walk and see if the flaahs are starting to sprout (they are, the fools)…
I miss my dad. But I’m so happy today

A woman (60s?) is walking along with a friend. She stops suddenly and says in a pensive voice. "Ya know what would make everything better right now? A stuffed spud."*

Her friend nods in fervent agreement. (1)
