As some other IGF judges and jurists are saying today, holy shit, Titanium Court. The way this game is going to worm into some of your brains…

the discourse on what jobs are acceptable to replace with generative AI reveals a lot about what we think of other people's jobs

look i I know this dipshit says dozens of insanely stupid things every day, but like, if someone hands you a trophy you don't become the winner of it. I can't fucking steal Prince's Grammys and become a multi-award winning musician

Megabonk sure is better than it looks on the surface. The meme humor is super lame and doesn't appeal to me at all. Yet, despite all of that, had been playing and enjoying it non stop all day.

Just read a negative review of a game where the reviewer wrote that a 27 hour game was "short".

I'm baffled by this logic. Anything past 30 is a long game for me. Anything past 60 is usually a hard pass, unless it's excellent. Who has the time to play 100+ hour games anymore?

Colonization seems cool and acceptable to those who have never suffered it nor ever been invaded.

I wonder how Americans would feel if countries threatened or tried to invade them.

I'm using CachyOS right now even though the community reminds me a lot of 2000s Gentoo. People arguing against using Flatpaks and apps made in Go because they are "slow and unoptimized as opposed to cachy/aur packages". The cycle of idiocy repeats itself.

Other than that, it made me like Arch.

Now that I'm back to using Linux as a daily driver (after 10 or so years), I find it insane to find reddit post after post of people recommending you dual boot Linux or reinstall if you want to switch from gnome to kde. Is it really so dire now? Or are people just cluelessly repeating nonsense?

"2026: year of Linux on my desktop" started 11 days early.

2026 will also maybe probably perhaps be the year of me learning to program in Go.

It's interesting that Clair Obscure was the first time I didn't choose for the character I was playing to romance the party member I would've actually hit on.

A weird case of "OK my guy, you go romance Sciel, I'll try to romance Lune when I get a chance..."

Amazing that Mozilla had enough time to add a gesture to Firefox Mobile for AI garbage, but can't seem to find the time to add an option to disable swipe navigation.

Absolum is pretty good yall. Been playing it solo and having a good time. Master class in giving you reasons to go on "one more run".

Should one consider taking out your 401k if most of the investments are part of the AI Bubble train? Not sure if better to take that money out than lose all of it in a few years. Honest question, too.

Rolled credits on ball x pit. Didn't even expect there to be any 😅. Cool game. Highly recommended. Liked the music, pleasantly surprised that Amos Roddy contributed to it.

I've been using Cursor for the past few days. I can't understand how already productive people can use this and be productive. The AI just gets in your way every single time. This is without even considering the quality of the suggestions.

Who is this product for?

The Declaration of Independence specifies 27 grievances with King George III and Britain.

Donald Trump and his regime have committed at least 20 of those same offenses highlighted in yellow.

Controversial take for today: people who think that "Souls games are all about the super hard bosses" don't really get it.

To me, by far, the difficulty is the most uninteresting part of these games.

Before you go yelling "skill issue" at me, I've finished them all.

Every day I get closer and closer to abandoning dotnet altogether. The dev tooling in 9 has been a sharp regression from 8, to the point of being unusable. If you are not doing simple C# apps, then you are out of luck. Doing F# (like me)? Double middle fingers.

What an insane ride this has been.

Check out Little Rocket Lab on Steam. It's a crossover between Stardew Valley and Factorio. Has been a lot of fun so far.
