given how common the "you're the sole survivor of a spaceship crash on a hostile planet" story is in factory games, someone should make a reverse-factory game where you play as an alien tracking down and destroying colonizers who fall out of the sky and try to turn your planet into green tech cards

Very sad to say it seems Mike Fossey, aka Mike F. has died. Truly one of the funniest posters of all time and a talented artisan. Had been friends online for many years, but I got to hang out a couple times at shows in Boston and he was funny and sweet in real life too.

There should be literally no circumstances, ever, where citizenship is can be revoked. If you literally sign up to fight for an opposing army in a war, then we should prosecute you for treason not revoke citizenship
Hell, I'm not convinced we should revoke citizenship at all.

But certainly not for being a twat online.

LLMs are a near dead-end technology. Like all ML systems they can never be used when the output needs to be correct. And because an LLM doesn't separate code and data it can never be used where it receives untrusted input and can do a bad thing.

NEW: They kept saying they were gonna do it and now they've done it

A group of clowns (Senators) have introduced a bill to FULLY REPEAL Section 230.

No reform, no replacement, just utter destruction of all online free speech.

We can't let this happen. Share & take action

I'm a one issue voter. Anybody who shits on the less powerful is ruled out. If you want to trample on the homeless, or trans kids (hi Gavin Newsom), if you stay silent about what ICE is doing, if you are ok with Palestinians or Jews being singled out, please just fuck off and go away.
Interesting how I haven’t seen a single person who tried to whitewash MTG’s violent history and claim she’s “coming around to our side now” speak a single word about her latest anti-trans bill.

If you do not support trans people - by actively dedicating your time and money (if you have it) and voice to their cause - you are a failure of morality and humanity and you are not just a bystander but a culpable participant in one of the most violent attempts at eugenics of our time.

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

Any site has to balance the things their most active users want with things their majority of users want, and the absolutely fiendish problem of social media product design is those two desires often actively contradict each other.

With Bill C-12, Canada is repeating a century of anti-migrant scapegoating.

The new legislation will restrict refugee protections, increase deportations, and expand state powers, framing migrants as “dangerous” and “unwanted”—it’s a new chapter in an old Canadian playbook.
