This is the beginning of them changing the definition of the word “war” so they can attack citizens without repercussions.

Protests are not war.
Accountability is not war.
Disagreeing is not war.

Expression will soon be war.

And that will be the beginning of the erasure of the first amendment.

Feel free to attribute the following to a former OMB General Counsel: The supposed "new legal analysis" is, to use a technical legal term, horseshit. What the law actually says is that when Congress enacts a law ending a lapse, furloughed employees get paid at the earliest date possible. Period.

Johnson: "It's true that in previous shutdowns, many or most furloughed employees have been paid for the time they were furloughed, but there is new legal analysis - I don't know the details, I just saw a headline - but there are some legal analysts saying that might not be appropriate or necessary"

Marjorie Taylor Greene just realized her adult children’s insurance premiums would double if the Republican cuts to ACA go through.

She’s broken party lines and is siding with the Dems.

How many more MAGA people are out there like her? Who don’t realize these cuts will financially devastate them?
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene breaks with the GOP on Obamacare, calling to avoid premium hikes
Greene said she's "not a fan" of Obamacare but complained that her "own adult children’s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE" if Congress ignores the issue.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

ICE agents are reportedly creeping around high schools in Chicago. And because they are wearing masks, often not wearing uniforms and using unmarked vehicles this means that ANYONE could show up dressed like this and disappear kids off the streets. This is especially dangerous

A fake orange pumpkin with an air sculpted clay face that’s not yet finished. So far it has a strong cleft chin, lips, a large nose, and eyeballs but no eyelids or eyebrows yet. Those will be added later.

To the left bottom corner is the tub of air dry clay I’m using and there’s a small red paintbrush on the table I’ve been using to wet the clay and keep it soft enough to sculpt.

Any encounter with scholarship about racial violence in the Jim Crow South leads any thinking person to conclude that America has a long and extensive history of fascism. It’s just that people tend to refuse to acknowledge it as such when it’s targeting black people.

Their efficacy was confirmed against LIVE viruses including Ebola, Marburg, Nipah, Hendra, SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), AND Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).

The study has been published in Science Advances. YES, it is PEER-REVIEWED.
www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

🧪🧵⬇️
ABSTRACT
Viral pandemics continue to threaten global health and economic stability. Despite medical advances, the absence of broad-spectrum antivirals (BSAs) prevents rapid responses to emerging viral threats. This is largely due to the lack of universal drug targets across diverse viral families and high variability among viral proteins.
In this study, we evaluated 57 synthetic carbohydrate receptors (SCRs) for antiviral activity in cellulo using pseudotyped virus particles (PVPs) from six high-risk viruses across three families: Paramyxoviridae, Filoviridae, and Coronaviridae.
Four SCRs inhibited all tested PVPs, and their efficacy was confirmed against live viruses including SARS-CoV-2, MERS-COV, EBOV, MARV, NiV, and HeV.
Notably, SCR005 and SCR007, which exhibited minimal toxicity, significantly reduced SARS-CoV-2 infection in a severe animal model with a single dose.
Mechanistic studies suggested that SCRs bind viral envelope N-glycans, blocking viral attachment and/or fusion.
These results identify conserved viral N-glycans as promising BSA targets and establish SCRs as candidate prophylactic agents against enveloped viruses with pandemic potential.
