On one hand we have endless stories of the myriad of innovations in state surveillance from our stateless tech lords, and on the other we have barely literate goons roaming the street demanding to see actual papers like it's the 30's.
Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.
