This is the account manager for Jucika. We're hosting a gofundme to fund an emergency kidney procedure. We are in the US and uninsured which makes it difficult to pay the bill

Thank you for all the support so far we have $10.1k left

Please enjoy this modern take on Jucika

To quote over a thread from September of 2022:

One of the biggest problems with social media is that every level of a conversation is happening simultaneously,

And also that every subject worth discussion requires an initial "lies we tell to children" phase to build a framework of understanding.

A lot of folks coming from the Discover tab to be weird to Krista seemed entitled to be assholes because they don’t understand what the Discover tab is or that people aren’t there intentionally or that it’s not “for” them, and they get indignant when it’s pointed out.

Once again I can't remember the answer to my own riddle. A trip to the Mahler Wikipedia page and I found my way back to it though.

Sunlight is scattered by gases and particles in the air. Blue light is scattered more than other colors because it has a shorter wavelength. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.

Am I in favor of, or opposed to, the sky being blue?

I still don't have my book but I at least have an update (a month later)

There's another book I want and I'm tempted to go with these guys again just out of morbid curiosity

Coffee mugs: upside down (so loose grounds don't fall in because grounds are stored on a rack directly above mugs)
Pint glasses: checkerboard alternating (or they overflow their allocated space)
Plastic glasses: nested right side up (for no particular reason)

There is, I think, a very real bias that to take action is wrong in case it goes bad and then it's Your Fault

(Incidentally I think the trolley problem is a bad way of explaining this because it presents a situation with certain poutcomes, and we genuinely never once face those)

When you say holiday but mean Christmas, you erase my holiday. I don’t need you to share them! I don’t need to have a company dreidel competition (although we should). I’m an adult now, I know I’m a minority. But don’t send me an Ugly Hanukkah Sweater and expect me to care.

But I resent the implication that calling something “holiday” makes it inclusive, that a red and green Starbucks cup is somehow secular. I grew up in a world where these things were not expected to be For Us and no one insisted they were. Do you know how freeing that is?

We’re watching a shift where AI simulates the cohesion and reinforcement that used to require an entire online community. A single person can now build a complete parallel reality with nothing more than a prompt window. Which seems bad.

It's unintuitive because it kinda murders the entire financial incentive structure of the internet and content creation generally!! . . . on which AI relies.

In some ways, this feels like harvesting and then salting the earth, for no other reason than there is a lot of salt lying around.

I see that once again posting "this is how bluesky moderation works" has everyone convinced that I personally endorse any and all moderation decisions here and am in fact the person who set those policies

never change, bluesky

The genre is "reply to a blocked post"
I think the lack of context is what makes them more fun than just a plain aggro reply.
