I know I’m naive but it is pretty wild that the president of the United States just publicly declares he and the military killed some guys on a boat, multiple times, and the entirety of Congress doesn’t immediately hit a giant red IMPEACH button

It seems painfully evident that we lacked legal, moral, or other justification for the killing of eleven individuals aboard a small boat in the Caribbean.

It is also entirely clear that the Trump administration, having begun by obfuscating and lying, is now simply stonewalling. They fear the truth.

I don't get how people don't realize that a technology that replaces junior and entry level positions in a field destroys that field.

There's no skipping steps. You have to be a junior before you can be a senior, and if you don't have senior people, you don't have a field.
Remember, kids: A real big goal of "AI" is to entirely sever capital from labor, and no, there will be no universal basic income, you can all just starve and die, thanks

AI is already taking jobs away from entry-level workers
Software and customer service are most at risk right now and could be the canary in the coal mine.

The best thing about saying that Republicans are gross weirdos is that it is true and effective.

The second-best thing about saying that Republicans are gross weirdos is it exposes the weirdest thing about them—they simply cannot handle being considered weird. www.the-reframe.com/the-normal-o...
The Normal Ones
The "weird" discourse. Those who insist on being seen as exclusively normal, and on using their grotesque perversion of normalcy to define everyone else's identity. White Christian supremacy, bullying...

The media’s inability to state facts when it comes to Republicans (and Trump) is partially how we got here. The plane is a corrupt violation of the U.S. constitution (not to mention a security risk). This is a fact. Full stop. It’s not up for debate with weasel words like “raises concerns”
Qatar giving Trump a $400 million plane "raises ethical concerns" says major media, in the same way as Jimmy Carter's death last year raises concerns about whether he will be the Democratic nominee for president in 2028

Ask me about how many supply chains one has to navigate in order to keep a fleet of heavy trucks repaired by and used by essential workers. Parts come from China, Mexico, Canada, Taiwan, Vietnam... parts that are difficult to impossible to find alternates for.

It's gonna get bad, folks.
Your paper might use American wood and be made in an American factory, but if the replacement steel blades or motor belts or the controllers for automation etc for processing it are no longer available, your paper stops being available.

Supply chains are mindbogglingly complex.
