We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

This is insane. ICE raided an apartment building in South Shore (a 90%+ Black neighborhood) at 10pm, using chainsaws to gain access and throwing flash bangs.

According to witnesses they just handcuffed everyone, with people who weren’t arrested being held for over five hours.

“Rodrick Johnson, 67, is one of many residents who were detained by federal agents during the South Shore raid. A U.S. citizen, he said agents broke through his door and dragged him out in zip ties.

…he was left tied up outside the building for nearly three hours before agents finally let him go.”

People in the complex said they were zip tying kids and they didn't have names or anything. They took you first, then ran to see if you had any outstanding warrants - not just immigration. And the FBI helped them.

An arrest of a person due entirely to the person having dark skin color is now known across the country as a "Kavanaugh stop," based on Justice Kavanaugh's justification of the practice. slate.com/news-and-pol...
