This book is riveting and so, so infuriating. It follows 5 families in Atlanta who are struggling to remain housed and paints deeply compassionate portraits of each unit. It reads almost like a novel but is outstanding journalism

The Times questioning Zohran’s experience kinda just boils down to ideology & racism but the idea of 33 being too young to hold a major political office is so funny. If he was a CEO of a startup that produced something worse than nothing they’d write a glowing feature on his new bold ideas.

Against consent. Without consent makes it sound like they just forgot to ask. What they actually did was actively go against the consent of the family. Both are bad but the latter is much more evil and diabolical and I hope the family sues the state for everything they have.
