that's my argument more than anything that regardless of what is the Right or the Wrong thing to do from a moral standpoint, the bluesky team is clearly lacking someone with the vision to see that this [gestures wildly] is actively harmful to staff morale if nothing else, let alone brand reputation.

Pretty sure that tank was serviced very carefully to produce that squeak. (An unserviced tank sounds like a machine shop falling down stairs.)

That whole parade was a giant middle finger from the military to Trump. They do NOT appreciate the way he uses them.

We also need(ed) to master our cell phones before they mastered us.
Of course, we failed in that and are living with the consequences.

AI can absolutely do us harm without ever becoming “smarter” than it is now.

They aren't hypocrites. They literally do not care. There is nothing you can say to get them to realize any personal shame regarding contradicting views that change from minute to minute because they have none. They don't give it any thought whatsoever.

I’m giving him credit for being able to manually verify 29 lines of python.

Unclear if using a verification tool that you can inspect but did not write is superior to using one you wrote, bc of the tendency to miss one’s own errors.

If he phoned in the software review he could still be hosed, ofc.

Resource tradeoffs are real. Financial tradeoffs are real to the extent that they reflect that, but are fake inasmuch as that is very often not tue case: the financial landscape is arbitrary, and exists to favor the industries that have captured it.

As someone else here observed, (current) AI technology is a great boon to the senior professional and a total disaster for the junior.
This pattern repeats relative to other aspects of life, as well.

wanting to understand a technology is not philosophically, morally, or ethically equivalent to "boosting it". if i was making a thread about how we all need to give our money to sam altman then i would say being cruel to me is not only fine but possibly ethically ideal. i am not making that thread
