When Breaking Bad was at peak popularity, I sat in a small town doctors waiting room & made small talk with a white man in his 50s.

We soon discovered a mutual love of BB. I asked the man what else he had loved. He offered more masculine shows (eg Sons of Anarchy) which interest me little, so I…

Doctor: hmmmm yeah no

What I love about this place is the circle of people who all check in on each other.

No one person has to be strong all of the time.

It might feel like sometimes you are the one needing/giving all the support, but it really is a team effort, and each of us gives/receives according to our needs.

This is going to be giberish to most people, but I isolated CD34+ cells today, using a magnetic cell separator.

There was a bit of a cock up early in the process, but I recovered and made it to the end.

Thank you to everyone who sent me good vibes today. I needed it.
Folks. I am super dooper nervous about work today.

Any kind thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm about to do a very complex process that I haven't done in 18 months.

- This makes me question my own reality
- Completely absurd storyline with ensemble cast who I want to imagine are bffs off camera

@floregonian.com is doing his usual gorgeous thing of spreading joy.

But I want it to be known that I, too, am spreading joy by refraining from hitting send on the two weird replies I wrote to strangers in this thread.

You are welcome strangers. Today, I showed restraint.
We need this thread immediately. I’ll start:

The Delta lounge (forgive me for being bougie) uses Grown Alchemist hand soap—sweet orange, cedarwood, and sage—and it smells like being held gently by someone stronger *and* kinder than you.

What about the rest of you? What joys have you smelled?
I thought this said smell joys and got so excited to people listing scents they liked this week

Why is alt text important?

Because I was about to annoy Tashas by begging for a description of all the veggies I don't instantly recognise.

But, I checked alt text, and my question was already answered.

Thanks Tashas. 🥬🥦🥕

Pointing out that England and Australia did this together.
THIS IS HUGE! Researchers have just identified a powerful new antibiotic that is 100x STRONGER than existing drugs against deadly superbugs like MRSA and VRE. Hiding in a well-known soil bacterium, pre-methylenomycin C lactone KILLS drug-resistant bacteria WITHOUT triggering resistance.

New Asexual movie, Dear Luke, Love Me is coming soon to Apple TV, Amazon, and Fandago.

It is such a sweet and relatable movie, filmed specifically for the Asexual gaze.

@larreau.bsky.social and I watched it, and they reviewed it.

I thoroughly recommend you watch it.

I'm reading a book where, in the first chapter, a character puts the severed head of snapping turtle in his pocket.

I wondered to myself, is this Chekov's severed head of a snapping turtle in some guys pocket?

Ditto for conversations about getting students back to the classroom.
Any conversation about return to office vs work from home that does not acknowledge the ongoing pandemic is ignorant, ableist and destined to miss the mark.
Many, including disabled people but not only disabled know they cannot risk getting COVID and offices haven’t taken steps to protect workers.

I've decided he was rushing to the bathroom and he was shouting..

Pee, be gone.
I was getting out of the elevator, and an unknown staff member was rushing past me and loudly exclaimed....

Pig annon?
Picking on?
Peeking one?
Pickling gun?

None of those make sense within the context of the situation.

“That means courts will treat these children like adults” is a sentence the premier actually used. Proposing life sentences for 14-16 year olds is evil. Meanwhile the federal government is banning kids the same age from social media. Too young to post online but not to serve life in prison.
These reforms violate human rights obligations, contradict the evidence and will be devastating for children and young people in conflict with the law.
Victoria’s ‘adult time for violent crime’ reforms will not solve the youth crime problem

Times are tough for me and for so many other people.

I don't often have the energy to count out all the small good things in my life.

In the past year or so, I've planted a number of fruit trees.

I was able to pick a small bowl of mulberries .

My feijoa trees are showing signs of growth.
