Finally caught SINNERS in 70mm IMAX in one of its final few shows at Lincoln Square. Far and away one of the best technical presentations I’ve seen at a multiplex in years and just a transcendent viewing experience all around. The musical centerpiece should be used as a format demo at this point.

I love the lighting and angles in these, don't get that much in stock anymore
Today I discovered that people have been uploading old stock photo CD-ROMs to the Internet Archive and now I'm obsessed with the mid-'90s business-core aesthetic.

must be a wild experience to start watching star wars with andor and rogue one. 25+ hours of a fairly consistent ensemble cast rounded out by cassian spanning 5+ years and then a new hope is a bunch of randos just now joining the party getting rewarded

Perverts, yearners, and sensualists! All that edging is over. The moment has finally arrived. Here is my 40-films deep list of movies that fuck. Argue with your momma. I know I freaked it with this one. letterboxd.com/angelicajade...
Movies That Fuck: A List for Sensualists and Perverts
I was on Bluesky recently (bad idea — social media rots your brain and spirit) and I saw some young in’ say that Robert Eggers film, Nosferatu, was for real perverts. And it so perturbed me I decided ...

It's an absolutely bizarre bill only criminalizes porn if you purchase it from a creator themselves. Studio content and pre-recorded content are exempted.

As with all "Nordic model" legislation, it actually takes away independence and agency and requires sex workers to work through third-parties.

in most countries you are literally barred by law from deals like this while in office because of the corruption implications
Apologies for yelling, but—

I don't think I'm ever going to be back on twitter so everyone better get used to me here. I wrote a book. People seem to like it. There's one sentence that mentions "Dragula" by Rob Zombie. When you've reached that sentence you have to listen to "Dragula".

I think a lot about how translucent tech captivated the imagination when the average consumer didn't know how it worked but it was cool to pretend we could, while now we have a better grasp of minimalist tech but it makes an effort to hide how it works by mostly just being boring and evil.
we used to be a country. a proper country.

glad im very much not the only person feeling a sense of betrayal and grief regarding a certain queer horror film scholar, in fact it’s the main feeling im seeing. a community built on a lie, but the community itself and its knowledge and values and artistry must live on
