In many ways, BIT conquered decades of rocky trans cinema right before we entered a whole new era in 2020. I love this movie and could talk for hours about everything I value in it, but mostly it just makes me feel alive.

And why yes, I was gifted Duke's actual jacket.

But that's the thing, disco didn't come back into fashion because it was willed back by original fans. Older people in leisure suits saying "disco never died" was a punchline for years. It was younger people who were not around who romanticized it and made it cool again. That's the pattern.
