We must stop tinkering around the edges of a broken healthcare system.

Yes, let's extend the ACA tax credits to prevent a huge spike in healthcare costs for millions. Then, let's finally create a system that puts your health over corporate profits.

We need Medicare for All.

When fucking Bill Kristol is calling your ass out (correctly) you gotta be being really embarrassed.
I’m kind of new to the Democrats, but I thought we were FOR respecting the legal process, and also that we were AGAINST political corruption. And that it was especially important to hold to these principles at this time.

But I guess there’s some insider memo I didn’t get that would set me straight?

There's a couple reasons so many IWW songs are set to the tunes of hymns and one is that the Salvation Army Band would show up and try to stop workers organizing by playing hymns to drown out speeches, so the Wobblies came up with words so they could sing along. SA has been trash all along.
It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.

It is really important for ppl to realize that right now, and for the next decade, Dems have to win city council seats, state legislature seats, w/o these short term majorities in Congress mean jack shit in the long run.
Justin Pope will be the new state senator for Mississippi Senate District 24 after winning a majority of the vote in Tuesday’s runoff election.

A Democrat, Pope will take the seat that retiring Sen. David Jordan held for 33 years.

I've been a government member of a citywide rezoning commission, this is quite amazing.
For anybody unfamiliar with the last 10+ years of housing politics in America, San Francisco legalizing 8-story apartments in most of the city including its wealthy neighborhoods (and up to 65 stories in some places!) is like PETA opening a steakhouse.
Holy shit San Francisco!

60% of the city rezoned, most places exceeding (!!) SB 79. The most restrictive of these allows attached 4–8 story apt buildings with no cap on the # of homes inside, no parking mandates, and by-right streamlined approval.

There's a fellow actor in the show I'm in who I want to grab by the collar & remind him that he's neither the director, music director, or the stage manager. his job is to know his lines, his moves, & then to stfu! (I'm the SM) I fucking hate actors who think their opinions are so fucking important

The GOP has been since Nixon a racist, anti lgtbq, for the wealthy Party. Choosing them isn't and has never been in my lifetime a good moral choice. Additionally, their economic, social, and foreign policy were shit from Nixon to Bush 2
Have people forgotten that there is an abyss between MoralMajority/TeaParty/FundyChristian/MAGA/HeritageSociety Republicans and the Republican Party Mr. Nichols started his career in? Four decades ago it was possible to find a Republican with integrity and values aligned with America. 🤦🏻‍♀️Geez.

Contra the centrist pundit spin, I believe it's good that the GOP worked hard to get their turnout to midterm level as it gives us a better data point of what cld be the Dem advantage on 2026.

I'm as optimistic as I can get rn
i'd say the midterm-level turnout for a special election is even more ominous than the swing

I started at the Baltimore School for the Arts in '89. By then the damage had been mostly done, no teacher at the school hadn't seen many friend's & colleagues die from AIDS. By '92, two teachers at the school hadn't seen many also died, ones I adored.

Then Adam Seabrook started a theatre company+
