It’s wild so many people are willing to go to bat for prisons as a reserve for rural jobs when universities are better in every aspect for such a role.
"Even after accounting for the upfront costs and delayed benefits, enrolling marginal applicants to public universities generates substantial net returns for society, the marginal students themselves, and the government budget."

GDP is a simple math formula and doesn't mean jack shit to everyday people.

People still can't afford food, housing or medical care.

Gov spending is WAY up and imports are down, that makes GDP go up.

Logic like this is part of his appeal for "locally rich" voters--those who aren't well-off by national standards, but who have a little more than their neighbors, often because they've been able to buy homes with generational wealth. 1/

Legacy media frequently repeated the idea that K-12 censorship was a mere "culture war" meant to win elections.

Now it is experiencing what teachers told them would happen: censorship of voices in the middle and on the left to make room for right-wing propaganda.

What we have here is a top editor spiking a story not because of serious editorial concerns, but because:

1) she is insecure and needs to assert authority;

2) she wants to drive serious journalists out of CBS; and

3) she craves attention, which is her oxygen.
