good morning. it is IHTOV time.

i wrote about the cars debut album, about the excitement of finding something new and different to listen to ihavethatonvinyl.com/liner-notes/...
Just What I Needed - Discovering the Cars
I became a Cars evangelist. I recorded the song off the radio and made everyone listen to it. I didn’t care that almost all of them had heard it. I wanted to play “Just What I Needed” all the time.

A libertarian utopia underwater? Surely nothing could possibly go wrong with this plan.
The Techno-Utopian Seasteaders Who Want to Colonize the Ocean
Libertarians have long looked at ocean living as the next frontier. Some wealthy men are testing the waters.

The amount of content I've seen complaining about the term "sportsball" is hilarious. Yes, it is annoying and trite, and the only people still parroting it are braindead idiots... Similar to literally anything related to professional sports.

As if there weren't enough terrible news in the world right now. I never met him, but Donald Shoup was my motivation for pursuing a career in Urban Planning, and also the reason everyone hates me when the subject of parking comes up. RIP to a real one.
I'm deeply saddened to share that Donald Shoup passed away last night. He was the ideal academic—curious, methodical, and concerned with turning ideas into real-world change. TAing his parking course these past few years has one of the greatest honors of my life. Rest in peace, Shoup Dogg.

Trump remembers the Undertaker. Ghostbusters. He's tired. They're making him sign something? He's thinking about Golden Girls. Musk brings him a thirteen year old boy, says this is BasedPrussian, from 𝕏, he's handling Iran now. Sure, Trump mumbles. Grimace from McDonald's

I don't want to hear any bitching from democrats about "Why don't young people vote for us" when nobody shows up for the mid-terms. You only have yourselves to blame.

Making RFK Jr eat McDonald's is so good as a Stalinesque tactic to break his inner circle's spirits completely, over and over. You WILL eat the Big Mac and you WILL NOT say how you think it's pumped full of hormones that cause autism. Look at RFK's face here!

Peter Watkins' 1971 mockumentary classic, "Punishment Park" presents a grim dystopic vision of a Vietnam War era United States where antiwar protesters and other radicals are rounded up as political prisoners and hunted for sport by the police. Despite being 50 years old it feels very of the moment.
