A life in the London suburbs. Very disappointed to announce that there really are no more heroes anymore. And finding out I'm an old fool feminist after all. It is time to go and do that reading.

"Since privatisation, Yorkshire Water and other regional water companies have paid out £7.6bn in dividends while loading themselves with borrowings.

Company accounts show net debt climbing year after year, even as profits were distributed to parent companies and investors."

Jo+Anne Pugh, Cath Leng, Sam Smith No Fear No Favour. What does it mean to cover sex and gender with impartiality at the BBC? And the cost of failure to do so at the BBC. How partisan sex and gender coverage brought down Tim Davie and Deborah Turness. The story still not told.

Incidentally there is growing talk in Brussels of von der Leyen under threat, Merz is struggling in Germany, and we measure French Prime Ministerial survival in weeks...

So if we all care to be less insular there is rather a wider trend in European politics.

Over the years social housing stock has been sold, real wages cut, profiteering unchecked, local council funding cut.

Liverpool has 12,764 households on its social housing waiting list. It has just five "additional social rent dwellings".

What is the govt doing?

While fresh air is good, trying to clean the air chemically is not. The atmospheric chemistry community has been saying this for a long time; the best ways of cleaning indoor air is physical removal (filters/sorbents/air exchange).
