Known for other things but mainly use this to talk about video games to be honest with you.
People like explanations with counter measures, something can always be done to prevent the cause behind bad things, not just the events themselves. But for a large number of people their alienation is of their own making and some acts of extremism would be happening in harmonious societies too.
Fascinated by how widespread “I think it was a conspiracy theory re: Rudakubana” is. No, they really did find huge amounts of violent material and he really wasn’t psychotic: the clue is that his defence did not reach for “he is psychotic” at all!
I've seen silly posts about trains and non-sequiturs about immigration or terrorism, but haven't seen any coverage on what to do about people with some form of psychosis attacking people. We pretended Axel Rudakubana was mentally well to prosecute, but does this part of mental health services work?

Should go a bit left field with it so its not accused of being an imperfect copy by going for previous winners. Stacey Dooley and Bill Bailey.

I have finally 100%ed Silksong and can now say unequivocally that it's better than Hollow Knight by one notch across every single metric and all the complaints about difficulty, runbacks, diagonal pogo, currency etc etc etc are not only not a problem, but actively make the game better.

Apropos of mostly nothing, I do feel like when nobody in politics talks about personal responsibility, and the broad right has truly given up on it, the gap between what is achievable in politics and what people think is achievable in politics just balloons beyond management and populism explodes.

Faro. Airy, quick, and about 50% chance on any given day in Summer that you bump into a member of the England Squad.
Actually, you know what? Let’s stop complaining for a second. QT this with a GOOD airport. Defend that title as much or as little as you like. But let’s hear about airports that don’t suck.

Watched five masked kids try to knick a parked motorbike today while sat outside a bar. One who unlocked it and tried to kick start it crashed it within 10 feet, got leapt on by four blokes, his friends ran, and after demasking it turned out he was about 15 and had *a broken right arm in a cast*.

Only "single moment" answer here is the crash, and refusal to make use of the ultra low borrowing costs to that marked the entire period of austerity to invest.
13% of Green voters pick Thatcher’s election as the moment that most put Britain on the wrong track. The Lib Dems overwhelmingly pick Brexit. Personally I was surprised how low the financial crash comes on people’s list. Full NS piece www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk-...

They don't say this stuff because they are unaware it is not true.
I guess Mississippi's newly radicalised racist Douglas Carswell can't be expected to know too much about the politics inside the left - but Keir Starmer's Labour government does not fund Stand Up to Racism & is hardly likely to, given its roos in Unite Against Fascism + the Socialist Workers Party!

Watching Sinner v Alcaraz in a lovely open-front pub in Keswick that’s been showing the tennis…
While being serenaded by an enthusiastic but truly awful busker who has, impressively, managed to play Chappell Roan and Nick Cave and make them sound exactly the same.

A friend is at the Black Sabbath/Ozzy concert today, and the timings are weirdly specific
Less than an hour of playing for both Ozzy and Sabbath, well they are in their 70s
Also note the curfew is a reasonable time so all the elderly band members can be in bed with their cocoa before midnight

One year since the General Election and one of the maddest six weeks of my life. We got Rishi scared enough to spend eight full days defending his own seat, and in such a flap he even tried to set up an emergency Lab-Tory hustings in the final week he then, of course, pulled out of.
