I met an absolutely lovely academic who asked whether my department back home is affected by ICE -- a question dramatizing how little info is getting out.

For the record, the small example I chose:

My dept has a carpool to pick up grad students of color who can't safely commute to campus alone.

Do you realize right now hundreds of thousands of Haitians are waiting for an update on their legal status that ends Feb 3rd unless something changes before then? Students, workers, neighbors, parents, all waiting in fear? Getting emails from HR to renew expiring work authorization? This is torture.

Signs about the history of slavery in the U.S. and the 9 people George Washington enslaved are being removed right now at the President’s House Site in Philadelphia, across from Independence Hall, months after the Trump administration threatend to do so.

How far we have not come in 250 years.

Yes on DHS appropriations bill.

With 7 dems support, two from New York.

Henry Cuellar TX, Don Davis NC, Laura Gillen NY, Vincent Gonzalez TX, Jared Golden MI, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez WA, and Tom Suozzi NY. Rep.

Thomas Massie of Kentucky was the only Republican to vote against it.

60% of Democrats believe Israel kills children intentionally and whopping 77% overall have a negative view of Israel.

I remain perplexed by Shapiro's apparent belief that attacking Kamala Harris, and on an issue where Shapiro is incredibly out of step with his party's base, will somehow catapult him to the presidency.

i still think the gift mamdani brought to dem politics is realizing that you don't have to limit this sort of comms about delivery to election season only
every once in a while i remember the great messaging markey did when he was dealing with a primary from kennedy

this is the sort of vibe most of the base wants now i think

It is very blackpilling to realize how much political discourse is just finding new ways to categorize demographics into Good and Bad and new excuses to justify it.
No unlike the way a lot of leftists talk about Jewish people I think it’s as simple as trying to separate entire demographics into Good Asians and Bad Asians

It's obviously implicit but politicians really only ever distinguish between a government and its people when they consider the state to be so totalitarian as to be inexcusable to the public perception
