I know some credit Anno with Shin's success and it is his movie no doubt. But it goes back to what Toei, Tsubraya, and the rest of the Tokusatsu/Japanese Filmmaking industry practice. Heart. Even if there selling the most ridiculous toys on small budgets, they let the crew go NUTS with creativity
so having just watched shin kamen rider, i have a question for tokusatsu fans: why did that movie have more sauce and aura than superhero films i've seen with 20 times the budget?
