I saw someone say AI is useful because it generates ideas. My dude, I'm full of ideas. I have docs and docs marked under 'ideas.' I have outlines and fragments of stuff I might work on. Trunked stories galore. Even if I continue to write a novel a year for the next 40 years I won't run out of ideas.

This Game of Thrones quote feels especially poignant: “Any man who must say 'I am the king' is no true king.”

Just saw a farmer say, "you don't have to admit you were wrong, you have to admit you were lied to, " and idk that seems like a good framing to call people in

I’m a part time librarian and I just want to echo what I’ve seen other librarians say recently: there is a HUGE uptick in requests for social justice, climate justice, abolition, history, etc books and I just want to say nobody is giving up the fight. If anything people are fighting harder #library

"When you see the women screaming in Iran for their rights please remember, dear Leily, that the force and duty of our screams have been gathering power for years."
This is a gorgeous book about female friendship, revolution, political freedom, & fighting for what you believe.

This device has every book and song ever written, mostly for free.

Wow! What do you use it for?

Charlie is at his most snuggliest in the 30 mins before his dinner time. Sometimes I delay his dinner just so we can cuddle for another few minutes.

One of my biggest big bears is when streaming services put subtitles over writing on the screen. You can know what's going on or you can know what people are saying - never both!

The only trick I've ever successfully taught my cats is to come to bed (because they get treats at bed time). It's the only time Fritz listens to me and I haven't been able to use treats to train him in any other capacity. But for some reason he loves him some bedtime treats

The true horror of this book is the conditions the girls suffer, the lies told to them by the staff & each other, & the complete lack of agency. It's a sobering view to think this was 55yrs ago & yet some people want to return to the days when young girls could be molested & forced to have babies.

I’ll never get over that all of this was avoidable and our kids could’ve had a better future had voters just made the obviously rational choice in November. It’s water under the bridge now. But what the fuck, people.

We don't know what Elon Musk meant with that hand gesture but we do know he's reinstated Hitler apologists on X, praised an extreme far-right German political party and endorsed the claim that Jews push "hatred against whites" www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...
Antisemitism was rising online. Then Elon Musk’s X supercharged it.
Antisemitism has long festered on the internet, but the Israel-Gaza war and the loosening of content moderation on X have propelled it to unprecedented levels.
