Me: What am I grateful for? ....I'm grateful I'm not a spineless coward.
T: Wow. That is not what they mean.
Me: But I AM grateful I'm not a spineless coward.
B: No mom. They mean for you to say something like "I'm grateful to be alive."
Me: I'm grateful to be alive....and not a spineless coward.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

I feel like I'm living in that episode of Midnight Burger where half the world is in a universe with a comet hurtling towards them and half is in a universe where there is not.

At first each denies the other's reality until they realize their universes overlap and both experiences are real.

She is one celebrity I have never heard a single bad thing about and I personally have been touched by her kindness. Thanks to her book club my son receives a free book in the mail every month as do many others.

I sincerely pray she gets better. Lights like hers are the ones we need most right now.

"my child could make this"

are they making it though? as in, do you let them? are they allowed to pursue art and the joy it provides? are they creating? its so hard to create nowadays. is your child given the abundance of freedom that creativity offers, or are they stifled by your judgemental mind?

I always think of this quote (from They Knew by Sarah Kendzior) when people say this.

Weird thing where people say “no one could have predicted it” when really what they mean is their political commitments and orientation were such that they ignored everyone who was predicting it

Sorry but “no one could have“ and you having your head stuck up your ass are two different situations
