Caitlin Clark left the Fever game last night with tears in her eyes after an injury. One thought went through my mind: Oh no.
Because the All-Star Game is Saturday. In Indy.
She's the biggest reason it's here.
And she could miss it.

The Capitol Police arrested a group of peaceful protesters who demonstrated today in the Cannon House Office Building against the Trump’s decision to freeze foreign aid and lay off thousands of USAID workers. The president has made his message clear: disagree with them, and they will come after you.

It really is reasonable to ask how we could possibly ever forgive our fellow Americans for voting for what is happening to us right now and what is going to continue to happen for years and years.

I mean the simple answer would be... we just don't, right? Ever? Because some things are unforgivable?

Everything that we warned the American public about regarding RFK Jr. is already happening.

An excerpt from an OpEd that @jimalwine.bsky.social and I published. We wrote about about what happened in Samoa with the measles outbreak there and said, simply:

“The same will happen here”.

Anyone want to bet that no one looks at the email responses that Musk asked for ?

It requires too much manpower and organization. Even w/AI

He will hold them in the event he has an interaction with someone.

If so, he can look up their response or lack of, and use it as cause for action.

Re-reading Francis’s encyclicals, and there are some true bangers.

Fratelli tutti, man.

“…true love for an oppressor means seeking ways to make him cease his oppression; it means stripping him of a power that he does not know how to use, and that diminishes his own humanity and that of others.”

Events happen; Mandela effect notwithstanding, they are largely verifiable not just through their impacts on subsequent events, but by our collective (consensus) memories. 2/

Back when I was teaching college writing courses, I used to tell my students — to get them ready for narrative essays — that “Narrative is how we make meaning out of experience.”

I stand by that formulation.

I have a rare autoimmune disease. The worlds leading expert on it is at the NIH. Even if I don't get treated at the NIH the research there is crucial for people like me and our doctors. It's not an exaggeration to say that their work can be the difference between life and death.

We are so sorry 💕. Please know that NIH doctors and scientists and support staff are doing everything we can to keep care alive.
I’m a current outpatient and my care has stopped completely last week, we had no warning and we are scrambling to get care and the necessary meds they prescribed elsewhere (Mayo?).

Just got this passed on to us, about the damage at NIH's home campus -- the largest biomedical research institute in the world.

"The articles on cuts and damage assessments are largely grants focused. The grants program is a bit easier to characterize because it’s visible outside the NIH..." 🧪
