Not much of a prediction. It's just a matter of size and speed.

It already has.
If the United States can no longer sustain hegemony the fear among adversaries and respect among allies it was once able to instill will rapidly curdle into contempt.

The next couple of years will be the great global disillusionment on so many levels - economic, social, political, scientific and others.

Let's just hope that it's going to be not too violent, because lots of people are so inclined, unfortunately. It will be interesting times.

Looks like the cooling effect of large amounts of aerosols from the Honga Tonga 2022 eruption dropping out of the stratosphere into the troposphere and seeding reflective low level clouds. This overwhelmed the heating effect of the aerosols in the stratosphere in 2022, which is declining since 2023.
November 2025 was the third warmest November on record in ERA5 at 1.54C above preindustrial levels – below only the records set in the prior two years (2023 and 2024):

While this is definitely among the most embarrassing posts I ever wrote, thinking about this cooky idea really helped me stop thinking light as rays or photon particles. It's a wave that statistically interacts with all molecules in a volume of air reminiscent of particles, but it's not particles.
When I wrote this post I hadn't slept properly for several days. I didn't trust myself to drive a car and I shouldn't have trusted myself to write anything on social media.

Learn from my mistakes. Not just the math error. I will keep this one, but delete several posts.
So, it turns out, the atmosphere isn't a classical gas at all and cannot be calculated without quantum physics. The number of states scales linear with volume and a cubic km has a billion cubic meters. It works in the lab, but earths atmosphere is too big. www-thphys.physics.ox.ac.uk/people/Alexa...

According to the IPCC, the uncertainty range of the warming between 1951 and 2012 is 0.4 K.

For the range between 1880 and 2012, extending the range by 70 years with much worse instrumental records and a world war or two in-between, the uncertainty increases to ... 0.41K

How is that possible?

This hex-map breaks down the share of 15-24 year-olds in Germany and the regional contrast is hard to miss.

Eastern Germany shows much lower shares except for larger cities, while many western and southern areas have noticeably more young people.

Jakarta is now the world's largest city dwarfing Australia's entire population
For decades Tokyo held the title of the most populous city on the planet. Yet the Indonesian and Bangladeshi capitals have overtaken the Japanese megacity.

That's basically the same size of project that were announced in 2022/3. Except that this time, the lithium price isn't in the stratosphere and there is very little chance that those projects get cancelled because the lithium price unexpectedly fell by 80%.
