There is perhaps nothing more "on brand" for Trump than using all of the power of the US government to coerce a sovereign, democratic nation into releasing someone accused of raping children and trafficking women.

If Cotton is right, and Venezuelan Supersoldiers can fight the US Armed Forces from the bottom of a capsized boat, maybe we shouldn’t escalate with them.
WELKER: Lawmakers say the 2 men appeared to raise their arms potentially to surrender. Why did Admiral Bradley interpret these actions as anything other than them trying to survive?

TOM COTTON: They were sitting or standing on top of a capsized boat. They weren't floating helplessly in the water

The Supreme Court paved the way for a felon to return to the presidency — where, behind the shield of office, that felon has ordered a string of murders.
The boat was split in half. 9 men were dead. 2 more clung to a floating piece of wreckage and tried desperately to flip it over for 41 minutes straight. There was no possible way they were going anywhere.

Then they were killed in cold blood by the U.S. military.

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

Let's assume for a second that universal basic income would lead to more men playing video games. Is that a worse outcome than working for ICE or in prisons? Is it even bad to play? The reality is that everyone should have the freedom to not do evil work, by having their basic needs met as a right.
Not great that we’ve created a system where the best job opportunities for working class men involve either overseeing other working class people in prison, or working as masked secret police violently hunting down working class immigrants targeted for deportation despite having committed no crimes.
“We’re broken and we’re being poached by ICE,” one official with the prison workers union told ProPublica. “It’s unbelievable. People are leaving in droves.”

New evidence in support of universal basic income. This is via the Rx Kids program that's going to babies for their 1st year of life. The $500/mo has led to a 32% reduction in allegations of maltreatment among infants compared to the control group. This has also been seen as a result of Alaska's UBI

Imagine what it does to morale in the military to see the defense secretary hang an admiral out to dry to avoid responsibility for war crimes.

People say they want to manufacture real things in America again BUT they complain that it’s “inappropriate” and “not productive” to talk about how we need lots of guillotines. Like make up your minds!

Remember 6 weeks ago when Admiral Alvin Holsey, head of the U.S. military’s southern command, abruptly decided to retire?
Makes me think at least one top-ranking officer knows what a war crime is.

The National Guard should never have been deployed to DC. They are being used to carry out an entirely political agenda that has no grounding in reality and now two members have been severely wounded. President Trump is ultimately responsible for creating this situation. This blood is on his hands.

So sad
This is the first Thanksgiving for Sophie & Colin Hortman without their parents, Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and Mark Hortman who were assassinated along with the family dog in an act of political murder. National guards troops were not deployed to the state in response.

Time to move past the neverending trial stage. Yes, basic income reduces homelessness.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.
