For our next game update: I made an anti-AI placeholder for fun, but since @alexstrook.bsky.social liked it it so much I made it into a real color variation for a poster 🫡

Never used AI for anything in our games, and we're not going to start anytime soon

At this point, Twitter is probably mostly bots which is why engagement is so bad. Who cares if you have 3 million followers if no one meaningfully engages with it.

Clara Jeffery responds that her Bluesky audience is larger than her 15 years on Twitter, with more real people and fewer bots, though she wishes the platform were bigger and more diverse. Shadi Hamid reiterates that the move to Bluesky made many pundits irrelevant and shrank their impact. Derek Guy adds that despite having fewer followers on Bluesky, his engagement there is higher—he successfully raised $50k for an animal shelter on Bluesky, which he couldn’t do on Twitter. Nate Silver concludes by saying Bluesky engagement is limited, contributing only about 2% of traffic to his newsletter compared to X (Twitter), which is about 60 times larger. Even if Bluesky overperforms per capita, he argues, it is still much smaller.
