Good interview with IAG CEO Luis Gallego in Spanish daily El Pais.

TL/DR: a potential TAP deal would give IAG a big boost in Brazil; Qatar Airways is IAG's main into-Asia strategy for now; and he is unconcered with Turkish's investment in Air Europa.

That’s not what he said. He said the money for Essential Air Service routes will run out but that has absolutely nothing to do with ATC.

What will happen is after that first paycheck is missed, and this applies to ALL federal workers, the mental toll of financial uncertainty becomes a huge problem.

In 2014 we recovered the last Me 262 prototype (S-21) near Arnhem. It was shot down by German troops who didn’t know what it was: A plane this advanced must be Allied.
The same day they mentioned a new revolutionary German fighter in the evening newspaper, a few hours too late🫠

Temporary runways like this require a lot of prep, operational safety provisions, and situational awareness all along. Ref. crash of SQ006 at TPE in 2000. ✈️ #airports #aviation #safetyfirst

This does appear to be the case, aircraft are landing and departing on the parallel taxiway. I don't know if I've ever heard of something like this happening with commercial aircraft before.
