Hey everyone! I got invited to do a really fun thing - talk about my research on (food and) drinking metaphors in rabbinic texts about gender and sexuality, as a guest on the Jewish Drinking Show, a podcast hosted by Rabbi Drew Kaplan. Check out the episode here: jewishdrinking.com/rablitsexual...

Swastikas and nooses aren’t “potentially divisive” - they are symbols of racist and antisemitic hate, violence, and genocide. By no longer classifying them as hate symbols, the Coast Guard is doing nothing less than normalizing violent extremism.

The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items “potentially divisive.”

Yesterday, Trump defended the Saudi Crown Prince in the Oval Office.

He said he had “nothing” to do with the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

But I reviewed a call while serving on Trump’s NSC that I believe would be of interest to the Khashoggi family and the American people.

Release the transcript.

Instead of considering whether the super-rich really need a tax cut, the Trump regime is considering whether poor people really need to eat.
Brooke Rollins on why the Trump administration is cracking down on food stamps: "We're really opening up the market here, wanting to make sure that those who are receiving this *supplemental* nutrition benefit -- it was never meant for the long term -- are really those who need it."

Let me be as clear as humanly possible: there is no version of a healthy democracy—or a healthy political party, or a healthy media environment, or a healthy moral compass—where defending, excusing, or platforming Nick Fuentes is acceptable.
Enough. Absolutely Enough.
Platforming antisemites is fine—if they flatter convicted felon Trump. Everything else? Dangerous.

You mean the company that's currently being struck by its workers and the company that's currently being boycotted because of its terrible DEI policy rollbacks? Why not just call this the Chocolate Mint Racist Scab Frostie?
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

This whole NYT account about the weaponization of DOJ is beyond disturbing. Kinda feels like the US government fell in January.

He is going to "cut off contact."

Which is to say he is withdrawing professional support because she declined to fuck him.
