Beijing has suspended exports of certain rare earth minerals and magnets that are crucial for the world’s car, semiconductor and aerospace industries.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

Watching a Europe that is unable to do obvious things - like deprive an invader of assets so it can be used to defend and rebuild the invaded - is why the Articles of Confederation needed to be replaced in the US in the 1700s.
Same argument the British made when the UK convinced the US to help in the overthrow of Mossadegh in Iran in the 1950s.
