Yeah I think not only is there an ethical and moral distinction here, something like...DLSS is a great example of something that isn't the plagiarism machine. Well, technically it is, but it's the game plagiarizing it's own frames, for itself. Not the same.
Conflating machine learning tools with GenAI and LLMs are such a favorite of these bad faith arguments, too. Like, machines studying X-rays to better understand cancer is not the same thing as Open AI swallowing all my books via piracy to regurgitate sentences that sound similar. It's just not.

Marketing is a cancer upon any form of communication it touches. Phone calls, text messages, and personal emails are growing further obsolete due to the sheer amount of ad slop that needs to be sorted through. And meta platforms are a horrendous user experience as well due to this.
