If you'd asked me which celebrity would posthumously unveil a list of people she wanted fired into the sun, I would not have guessed Jane Goodall

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.

I have been saying this for 3 years now; it is evident from even a theorerical understanding of these systems' operations. But ppl keep claiming it's not true or not important, or could be patched over, & so I keep hoping each time an "AI" company CEO comes out & admits will be the one that sticks

"No Farmers, No Food" they love to wail, demanding we bail them out and cut the tax on their utes, and yet 27% of our kids are going hungry.

This country is a failed state when it comes to self-sufficiency. It would rather sell its soul than feed its children.

Turns out, mom was right.
Goebbels Ends Careers of Five 'Aryan' Actors Who Made Witticisms About the Nazi Regime

Feb. 4, 1939

February 4, 1939, Page 1

BERLIN, Feb. 3.—Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels today ended the professional careers of five "Aryan" actors and cabaret announcers by expelling them from the Reich's Chamber of Culture on the grounds that “in their public appearances they displayed a lack of any positive attitude toward National Socialism and therewith caused grave annoyance in public and especially to party comrades.” The five include perhaps the best known German stage comedians who survived previous Chamber of Culture purges and still dared to indulge in political witticisms—namely, Werner Finck, Peter Sachse and “The Three Rulands,” represented by Helmuth Buth, Wilhelm Meissner and Manfred Dlugi. Their expulsion means that they are henceforth forbidden to appear before the public in Germany.

Besides motivating this action in an official communiqué, Dr. Goebbels also publishes a long article in the Voelkischer Beobachter in which he denounces them as “brazen, impertinent, arrogant and tactless" and generally imitators and successors to Jews. Simultaneously he denounces the "society rabble that followed them with thundering applause—parasitic scum, inhabiting our luxury streets, that seems to have only the task of proving with how little brains people can get along and even acquire money and prominence."

As regards the details of the "crimes" of which the five are accused, Dr. Goebbels mentions that they made political witticisms about the colonial problem, the Four-Year Plan and Chancellor Hitler's monumental building program and one of them even raised the question of whether there was any humor left in Germany today.

What amused the public most, however, and presumably roiled the National Socialist authorities most—although Dr. Goebbels does not mention it—is that they deftly, but unmistakably, caricatured some gestures, poses and physical characteristics of Nat…

Really great work from Ken. Just makes the whole thing even more depressing, tbh.

Unlikely he was Antifa or a Groyper. Just a young guy who was very online, had access to guns and fairly inexplicably decided to take drastic action against someone he felt was a bad person.

TRANSCRIPT OF CARTOON

This cartoon has four panels. Each panel shows the same thing: Two women walking through a hilly park as they argue. The two are staying at least six feet apart from each other as they talk.

The woman in front is wearing a jacket with rolled-up sleeves, black tights with holes in them, and a striped shirt. She has a pink streak in her black hair. The woman behind is wearing a skirt with a pattern of exclamation marks, a white collared shirt, and has wavy hair falling to a little below shoulder level. She’s wearing glasses.

PANEL 1

PINK is talking calmly while, behind her, GLASSES waves her arms and talks in an argumentative fashion.

PINK: So when an eleven year old trans kid is prescribed puberty delaying drugs, that could spare them decades of suffering!

GLASSES: But what if a boy likes dolls, so his parents decide he’s a girl and force him to change sex? That’s why we must outlaw puberty delaying drugs!

PANEL 2

Pink isn’t yelling but she’s speaking passionately, waving her hands as she talks. Behind her, Glasses has her hands in her pockets and is listening without much expression.

PINK: I’ve never seen a real case like that. That would be awful. But if a case like that happened, it’d be one in a million. On the other hand, there are definitely trans kids who need this treatment.

PANEL 3

Pink turns back a bit to talk directly at Glasses as she asks Glasses a question. Glasses, hands still in pocket, replies calmly.

PINK: So how many trans kids would you sacrifice to prevent one hypothetical non-trans kid being forced into delayed puberty?

GLASSES: All of them.

PANEL 4

Pink has now turned all the way around, looking a bit horrified, and holding her palms up in a “let me just explain this” gesture. Glasses has stopped walking, has folded her arms, and has raised her voice, with an angry expression.

PINK: I don’t think you understand – we could be talking about a hundred thousand-

GLASSES: I said all of them!

all of this is basically a trojan horse for my sinking feeling right now that generative AI will be 'good enough' and that's...potentially a very bad outcome!
Good enough has been keeping me up at night. Because good enough would likely mean that not enough people recognize what’s really being built—and what’s being sacrificed—until it’s too late. What if the real doomer scenario is that we pollute the internet and the planet, reorient our economy and leverage ourselves, outsource big chunks of our minds, realign our geopolitics and culture, and fight endlessly over a technology that never comes close to delivering on its grandest promises? What if we spend so much time waiting and arguing that we fail to marshal our energy toward addressing the problems that exist here and now? That would be a tragedy—the product of a mass delusion. What scares me the most about this scenario is that it’s the only one that doesn’t sound all that insane.

Cis people being weird about trans people makes me think about king crabs.
Bear with me for this one because it will make sense.
You know king crabs, right? Giant crab, lives up north, has long legs, very expensive and tasty, featured on many a mukbang
Did you know they are technically not crabs? 1/

DEI for Pākehā middle and upper class men has *already* persisted for decades. It's just not formally recognised.
garethterry.bsky.social
You can't bleat about gaps between men and women and also rail against health promotion and care specific to Māori (and Pacific). Within group difference (different kinds of men) makes sense of these gaps, not between group difference (men and women). But ACT know this...
garethterry.bsky.social
As someone who has researched men and men's health for two decades, these same trite (and snarky) arguments don't make sense when we know the gaps between men and women can only be understood through other intersections. It's not all men (in the opposite way this is usually deployed).

Three years ago, three other reporters and I ID'd and called any school accused of having litter boxes for furries.

We found one (1) in the entire country: Columbine's school district.

Cat litter was for a "go bucket," in case kids were locked in during a shooting.

Not only did the Royal Commission into #Covid19 find lockdowns "proved to be an effetive tool", it made no specific finding about whether Auckland's 2021 Delta lockdown went on too long. It said the Govt's decisions were based in protecting the vulnerable, but it could have considered other factors.
3. Deciding when to introduce, and when to stand down, measures such as lockdowns is extremely challenging and requires difficult trade-offs in the face of uncertainty.
• Decisions about when to start and end measures such
as lockdowns involve weighing up a range of competing considerations – social and economic, as well as public health – and considering impacts across different population groups.
• During the COVID-19 response, decisions around use of lockdowns were informed by a range of advice and evidence, including modelling that took account of vaccination coverage, use of public health measures, and the strength of testing, contact tracing, and isolation systems. The Inquiry has not seen evidence that waning protection from vaccination was included in modelling to inform decisions around when to end lockdowns in late 2021, although it was used in modelling from early 2022.
• Many members of the public – and some senior ministers –
felt that the last Auckland lockdown went on for too long. Our assessment is that the Government’s decision-making on when to end the final Auckland lockdown reflected its judgement that allowing more time for Māori and Pacific communities to reach higher levels of vaccination was justified by the benefits they would gain, in the form of greater protection against the severe impacts of COVID-19.
• However, we are of the view that other factors such as waning protection and assessments of likely resurgence could have been considered alongside vaccine coverage. For example, we note that lockdowns in the Australian states of Victoria and New South Wales ended earlier and at lower vaccination coverage levels than that at which the Auckland lockdown was relaxed, without any associated increase in case numbers. In a future pandemic we think these considerations should also be included in advice to decision makers.

Trump's anti-trans EO defines a male and female as someone characterized that way *at conception* but there's no such thing as a male embryo/fetus because they all start female before switching to male.

so all men are trans, according to the trump presidency.
