This story from yesterday didn't perhaps get the attention it should have. It's utterly shocking. It follows dogged reporting by the Observer (in its pre-sale era), which was repeatedly rejected by the academy federation concerned.

The damning review of Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy has wider implications for 'zero-tolerance' behaviour policies.

Shouting at students was "routine", a "climate of fear" was created for staff & students, and SEND adjustments were "inadequate".

The independent safeguarding review has confirmed exactly what Anna Fazackerley exposed in her #Observer front-page story: a rigid behaviour regime at #Mossbourne created a climate of fear and harmed vulnerable pupils. She listened to parents when others wouldn’. Today, she’s vindicated

The case review of Mossbourne is balanced, but I think it really shows that the journalists who pursued the story (especially @annafazack.bsky.social for The Observer) were wholly right to do so and the concern for childrens' wellbeing was justified.

Russia drafted a 28 point surrender plan, handed it to the Trump team, and the regime delivered it to Kyiv unedited, demanding Zelensky sign it by Thanksgiving or lose all US support. Trump and Vance then promoted the plan exactly as Russia wrote it, verbatim, on TV, online, and in person.

2) Decide how you want to be rewarded for your aggression

4. The cheapest way to keep Britain safe? Help #Ukraine win. Long-term weapons, joint production, and political backbone.
A strong Ukraine = a weaker Kremlin = a safer UK.
Act now so no one ever dares test our defences.

3.We also need home resilience: cyber protection, emergency planning, and a “Swedish-style” civil defence reboot. Modern conflict hits civilians first—energy, comms, transport. Prepare now and you avoid chaos later.

2. Britain needs:
• A credible warfighting Army
• Layered UK air & missile defence
• Serious protection for power grids, ports, undersea cables
• A Navy that can actually keep 2 carriers at sea
This is basic statecraft, not warmongering.

1. #Russia is accelerating its war machine. Europe isn’t ready.
If the UK wants real security in the 2025–30 window, it must rearm at speed: rebuild ammo stocks, expand missile production, and fix the hollowed-out Army. Deterrence now is cheaper than panic later.
