I keep wanting to say something, and I keep not knowing what to say.

The trans community does not harm cis people by existing. They are just trying to live their lives, same as anyone else. That life doesn't look exactly like mine; my life doesn't match anyone else's. That's okay.

My favorite snow day growing up was the April Fool's Day blizzard when I was in high school. I had to get out of bed and go downstairs to see the cancellation on TV before I would believe it. Then I went back to my room and had several more blissful hours of sleep. ❄️
I feel for anyone that never got a snow day when they were a kid. They are truly a unique vibe. Mother Nature randomly giving you the day off to be a little snow goblin. Outstanding.

I paused, out of breath. The Void had taken all my frustrated screaming and absorbed it.

"I'm sorry," I whispered. "You must have heard all this before, countless times."

'only you,' said the Void, 'scream your frustration like you do'

I took a deep breath to resume, then smiled.

"Thanks."

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

I don't want to start a thing so I'll just say that there will never be a good argument for privatizing USPS. That would be like privatizing libraries. The aim of services isn't to be run for profit, they are for serving the greater good, which USPS has been extremely successful at.

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

There is no route out of fascism that involves sacrificing the vulnerable. All that does is tell the fascists that we're willing to turn on each other for the illusion of safety.
A lot of political influencers within the Atlantic/NYT orbit are very, very eager to sell us on the lie that we can get out of fascism by sacrificing trans people.

They will beat that drum even louder as the right weaponizes this tragedy.

They are liars now & they will be liars in the coming days.

Some people wonder how you can tell if someone is transgender. It's actually not hard. There's one thing that all trans people have in common that they can't hide: they're human. So if you encounter a human, they very well might be trans. So just treat them like you treat other humans. See? Easy.

You’ve inherited a movie theater. What’s your first double feature?

I'd go for a 90s witchy vengeance theme.
* East Coast — Practical Magic (1998)
* West Coast — The Craft (1996)

(Not actually that hard. I rewatch a LOT of things. But this one gets the shoutout today because it came up in conversation recently.)

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.
