The *actual* old school revival we need in RPGs is that glorious post Vampire pre D20/Magic period when everyone was putting out stuff like In Nomine, Unknown Armies and Underground.

This stunning 1984 poster was created from a 1983 photograph taken by Tseng Kwong Chi of totally nude dancer and choreographer Bill T. Jones painted from head to toe by Keith Haring. Jones’s body became a literal canvas for Haring. emuseum.mfah.org/objects/1595... #art #photography #80s #LGBTQIA

Today marks a year since my Burnished City trilogy concluded. Still so proud of my desperate disaster trio and their story of defying the rules--in magic, in politics, and in love!

Never too late to join the fun. Start with the "wickedly entertaining" NOTORIOUS SORCERER. viscerate.com?page_id=243

if you are worried that people might fraudulently access disability accommodations to gain a competitive edge in college, the proper solution is to structure education less like a competition

but I encourage you to think about disability accomodations from a lens where disabled people exist to you

193 years ago today, Dec. 2, 1832, is an auspicious date in Texas history because it was on that date that Sam Houston crossed the Red River at Jonesborough and entered Texas for the first time. He could never, EVER have imagined all that would ensue as a result of that decision.

Early this morning the lawn guys showed up and the Asylum Street Spankers song "Leaf Blower" immediately earwormed me. And yet again I remember that the song stopped being funny the moment it became clear a lot of people really would shoot the guy with the leaf blower and had guns.

If you are getting married soon and on the fence about changing your name, my vote is for keeping your maiden name! Not because of the risk of divorce (though there’s that too), but because it’s a PITA with no tangible benefit. Change it socially but not legally, if you want.

Texas Tech has decided it wants to be a football program affiliated with something equivalent to an air conditioning repair school
TX Tech has a flow chat for guidance on what can be taught in the university system. Two things:
1. Very little content seems to be permitted. This is partisan control of the curriculum.
2. I would not enjoy teaching under these conditions, but I really would not want to be a Chair or Dean.

I've worked as a software tech writer and for an immigration lawyer. Not questions, but:

Software tech writer: "I know who to blame for the lousy help/documents now, ha ha!"

Legal assistant: All sorts of racist and xenophobic shit. Much more so now than when I was doing the job in the 90s.
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!
