Any time this bronchitis wants to go away will be fine with me. I miss breathing.

I came here to post “I’m not very good at my job,” but I saw eleven disasters at the top of my feed so now it’s “I’m not very good at my job and I have no idea about real danger, sacrifice, or pain, no perspective or empathy, whining as the world burns. Also I’m fat and the Mets lost.”

I don’t care for this.

Today, February 25, marks one year since 25 year old US airman Aaron Bushnell succumbed to his injuries after self-immolating outside of the Israeli Embassy to protest US support for Israel's atrocities in Gaza.

Thinking of him & the loss of hope he felt in bringing about change otherwise. 💔

Trump isn’t going to end the war in Ukraine. He’s going to make it easier for Russia to keep what it stole and greenlight Putin to go after other countries.

i’m starting to think the tarriffs are a smokescreen: it’s a well known trump fetish, and an easy headline to write. reporting a full-scale backroom coup requires asking questions we’re only just beginning to formulate, it’s hard to fathom and therefore hard to trust

I wonder how many times I’ve listened to “Cool Change” by Connections. Thousands, I think. More than I’ve ever listened to a record that I wasn’t on, It’s A Shame About Ray notwithstanding.

Reading “High and Rising,” the De La Soul bio. I wish I knew as much about De La as I do about how insightful the writer’s mom was with selective boundaries and how he realized at 10 years old that music was awesome magic. Why is modern rock journalism memoir? I blame 33 1/3.

I think this should be kind of a big deal: Elon Musk tweeting at 1:03am, “Only the AfD can save Germany.”

The AfD is Germany’s neo-Nazi party.

I’m trying to limit my political
kvetching on here, but the faintest sunshiny chuckle for me is remembering how dozens of dude’s last appointees all turned on him en masse, telling the same horror stories, but they were skilled, able, and articulate, and the new ones just won’t have the words

Very glad for the new Kim Deal and Father John Misty albums, because 2024 was set to be the first year in memory when I didn’t discover any music I didn’t have to try hard to like.

I’ve decided my ultimate acid test for musicians is “Can they hear the songs on Vampire On Titus.” If they recoil and act like the lo-fi sounds are physically attacking them, missing the songs entirely, we are not meant to be.

When my boss asked me why I was upset and distant, I told her I woke up that morning to footage of Palestinian men being buried alive with their hands zip tied behind their backs and the kids that they separated from them and sat in a freezing cold field scared and hungry reminded (1/2)
