This was part of the eulogy that Walter Mondale's son, Ted, read this morning at Jimmy Carter's funeral. Carter & Mondale agreed that these words summed up their work:

“We told the truth;
we obeyed the law;
we kept the peace.”

Right wing accounts on this platform are lying about what the GOP and Trump are doing to dismantle health care in this country. Here's the real story, with a gift link:

Because who needs clean air and water anyway?

The Trump administration plans to reduce the EPA's workforce by 33% by the end of 2025, which will severely impact the EPA’s ability to enforce environmental regulations, conduct research, and oversee cleanup efforts.

The move will slash the agency’s ability to keep pollution out of air and water.

Folks are looking for press covering ICE in Adelanto, CA. San Bernardino County.

I have approximately zero following on this app, sharing in the hopes it can get in front of the right person. A man I went to college with’s wife was kidnapped by ICE at a green card hearing, and he’s trying to find a reporter who will speak to him about the situation

When we were looking for new textbooks, I don't remember a large number of offerings. Content was pretty similar, so the peripherals drove the purchase. The biggest problem is that textbooks tend to overgeneralize and the choices they make lead to an incomplete narrative.
geojo22.bsky.social
Valid question. I don't believe he did. I doubt the content in textbooks varied that much. It would probably be costly to vary the books. You probably would see that in the use of other materials.

So ugly and unnecessary. A big white elephant.

Something that would be genuinely helpful would be for anyone doing this in a local market -- say, Austin's KEYE-TV (channel 42) -- to write down a list of companies advertising in that specific market so that people can start calling and writing letters
kevinmkruse.bsky.social
Well, there it is. Sinclair is digging in for a fight, so please help push back -- find stations in your area, watch their local news to see what ads they run, then write those advertisers to tell them you're boycotting as long as they're on a Sinclair station.

Good morning to readers; Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands.

In 2002, Putin shut down a comedy show after it called him a "baby gnome". This week, Trump axed Jimmy Kimmel’s show.

I spoke to Ambassador Michael McFaul about why autocrats fear comedy - what it means for free speech.
