As a long-time campaigner for publicly owned railways and the proud owner of a very well-worn @bringbackbritishrail.org t-shirt, I am excited to vote for #GreatBritishRailways in public hands today 🛤️🙌

But as @sianberry just said in the Commons debate - shall we do the actual trains next?! 🚆

I was looking forward to the Zack vs Zia battle and it turned into the Zack vs everyone except Daisy Cooper battle. It was refreshing to finally hear a QT guest say that immigration is not the reason for failing public services. They are running scared and maybe there are a few more greens tonight.

Very telling tonight on Question Time how much the Labour minister absolutely did not want me to talk.

Every time I even began a sentence he started to try and distract me.

It's not going to work on anyone.

While I think most literate people can be insightful and articulate in text form, if given enough time to collect their thoughts, it is a rare talent to be able to do that verbally, in real time, while responding to interruptions, hostile jibes or pointed questions and STILL get your point across.

🪟Since 2002–05, the number of people living in the private rented sector has more than doubled to around 320,000 by 2021–24.

The poverty rate for private renters is up by 63% to 100,000 over the same period.

Action is needed from the NI Executive to help tackle this hardship.

Juries are not just part of our legal system — they are vital defenders of the right to protest.
With anti-protest laws still in place, I asked the Government what risks getting rid of jury trials will have on our democracy.

One of the reasons we need universal basic income plus higher taxes on the rich is to boost the spending power of the bottom 60% and in doing so, reorient our economy around the needs of the majority of people who comprise it. As inequality has increased, our economy has adjusted to meet rich wants.

Just end some of the perks for a select few, anomalies and abuses. Redistribute to alleviate poverty, better infrastructure.
