I find in ClimateTech that a lot of the innovation and breakthroughs just make sense (using microorganisms and software to accelerate processes, for example) but Direct Air Capture just has always defied common sense for me. news.mit.edu/2024/reality...

This isn't realistic. The only (?) alternative is to develop technologies that reduce dependence on these critical #minerals. Fortunately, many such technologies are maturing and scaling up rapidly.
The world needs a whopping 338 new copper and lithium mines by 2035 if it's going to satisfy demand for all those batteries, solar panels, wind turbines we've promised.
