Der TikTok-Algorithmus ist bekannt dafür, stark personalisiert zu sein. Mir wurde auf TikTok ein Video zu einer Pro-Palästina-Demo angezeigt. Ich sah es an - und es war bemerkenswert, wie sich daraufhin mein Feed entwickelte & zunehmend schreckliche Videos zeigte
Dazu eine Anekdote: Auf TikTok wurde mir ein Video von einer Pro-Palästina-Demo in Wien angezeigt. Ich habe es bewusst relativ lange angesehen, weil ich testen wollte, wie der Algorithmus reagiert. Beim nächsten Mal Öffnen der App sah ich noch mehr Pro-Palästina-Demos aus ganz Europa. Und seitdem ich diese Videos ansah, ist mein Feed voll von Kriegsaufnahmen, von Kindern, die verletzt worden sind, von einem Kleinkind, das weinend durch eine bombardierte Straße läuft und nach seiner Mutter ruft. Selbst mir fehlt die Zeit, die Echtheit all dieser Bilder zu überprüfen, es sind zu viele. Ich fürchte, dass manche Jugendliche ähnliche Aufnahmen wie ich in ihren Feeds sehen – und das antisemitische Gefühle nährt. Meine „For you“-Page auf TikTok ist voll mit angeblichen Kinderleichen im Gaza-Streifen, aber vergleichsweise wenig lerne ich dort darüber, was die Hamas israelischen Zivilist:innen angetan hat.
