Republicans only care about the deficit when Democrats are in charge …

America borrowed $43.5 billion a week in the first four months of the fiscal year, with debt interest on track to be over $1 trillion for 2026. Total national debt has surpassed $38.5 trillion, with annual interest payments.

The reality is that most of you do not need to have your doorbell be a 24 hour surveillance camera. It is lunacy to pretend the mass adoption of an Amazon owned home monitoring system is necessary.

Anyone remember this?

During an "Antifa roundtable" at the WH in October, Kristi Noem stated that feds in Portland arrested the "girlfriend of one of the founders of Antifa".

Whatever happened with that INSANE LIE/fictional person? They are such incredible fucking clowns.

I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...

Hope doesn't find us. We make hope through action and struggle. It's a practice of living and is re-made daily.

It’s important to balance our desire to bear witness with the need to protect our nervous systems—a balance that will differ individually.

Stay conscious of the fact our choices will affect our nervous system regulation, whether or not we feel it in the moment. There is often a lag effect.

It’s genuinely wild that the United States spent decades building an elaborate rules-based international order which de facto cemented its permanent status as the dominant global hegemon, sustained by ideology rather than might, and now is just blowing it all up for literally no reason

Between living in a state of hyper-vigilance, enduring widespread loss, and bearing witness to purposeful cruelty while powerless to stop it, we are all experiencing trauma—even if we as individuals or as members of a vulnerable group are not being targeted directly.

Be gentle with yourselves.

Another one of my problems. I think that knowing about all the things will help me somehow, that it is the same as taking actions.
Oh I can’t stop. As if knowing *all* of the shit gives me some illusionary sense of control of any of it.

That’s why I watch podcasts like Molly’s that at least make me smile through the doom on doom on grifting doom.
Doomscrolling has become such an enormous part of my personality, I don’t think I could stop if I wanted to.

This is one of my problems. I think that it helps to tell people things.
Cognition is simultaneously about what you know and also what you allow yourself to know.

The problem for democracy is that people who know lots of things think that everyone else wants to do so.
Imagining that the climate battle is about *information* -- that those who have good information will act; that those who aren't acting must be lacking information -- has been utterly disastrous for decades now, but advocates & pols can't seem to break out of it.
