Back in the 60s, my parents only let me have fizzy drinks as a treat when we went out. Never in the house. I grew up to hate them. They make me feel bloated and most are too sweet.
I was furious when my in-laws regularly gave my son cola. At 23, he's now addicted to the revolting stuff.

Those of us who already buy plant based products are not going to stop because of a name change, but this is a deliberate attempt by the meat industry to stop people switching to plant based products. I'm disgusted that the EU is wasting it's time on this sabotage of sustainable practice.
