Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) is a difficulty with understanding & using words & sentences.
That might seem like a small issue to you, but to people with DLD this can be a huge barrier. The biggest barrier of all is NEXT TO NO ONE HAS HEARD OF DLD.
Help us change that!

🧩 Sensory processing in ADHD isn’t one-size-fits-all.

New meta-analysis reveals a wide range of patterns: some people are hypersensitive, others under-responsive, and many experience both.

Think fire alarms, not fidget spinners.

To effectively respond to worsening mental health, we need to understand not just what is happening, but *why*

We used an evidence-based approach to unpack common explanations

Have you been using ABCD data? Are you measuring psychopathology with the CBCL? You will want to check out our latest preprint, led by @kanepav.bsky.social, which shows that the constructs measured by the tool fail to meet many basic validity tests. Peep the thread!

New pre-print from @alexfornito.bsky.social , Toby Constable, Jeggan Tiego, and myself, looking at the psychometric properties of the CBCL in the baseline ABCD cohort. We show that the commonly used CBCL structures fail to meet standards for validity and reliability

I wonder what proportion of these papers reweighted their analytical sample to account for UK Biobank's extreme selection bias?

More to the point, I wonder what proportion of the authors on these papers are even aware of the issue with selection bias in UK Biobank?

In a study of professors, women got 378 new work requests over 4 weeks vs 118 for men. Women spent more time on service, advising & teaching; men on research. Orgs should track who is taking extra duties & ensure they are rewarded and distributed fairly. www.forbes.com/sites/kimels...
