Why I Quit Streaming And Got Back Into Cassettes
In the age of Spotify and AI slop, tapes remind us what we’re missing when we stop taking risks.

If you own a computer it should be illegal for a company to not let you easily install your own software. This includes crap like tvs and refrigerators. Let me put Debian on my dishwasher.

"This promise of an AI future, is really just a collective anxiety that wealthy people have about how well they're gonna be able to control us in the future."

Incredible words.

Here's an example of how useless and frustrating internet laws to "protect kids" are in practice: When I'm in Ohio, where I am during the holidays, I can't use my Bluesky DMs—unless I hand over my ID to a company owned by Epic Games. Why? To protect kids, of course!

Age verification laws are as ineffective as they are dangerous.

The US TikTok sale has been signed. The company will be controlled by a joint venture including Oracle, Silver Lake, Andreessen Horowitz, Abu Dhabi-based MGX. Adding a UAE company really makes it clear that this was never about national security concerns.

Scoop: TikTok signs deal for sale of U.S. unit after yearslong saga
The deal would end a yearslong saga to force TikTok's Chinese parent ByteDance to sell the company's U.S. operation.

The reason they're pushing AI is because they don't see you as human, not really. They see themselves as the humans. You are the worker NPCs who exist to provide their lives with luxury, and so you should be satisfied with consuming whatever entertainment slop the robots can make for you.

I hate to be this guy but I do think there's a moral imperative to switching to Linux, I think it is the most important thing you can do if you really believe Microsoft is an irredeemably evil company.

I made this account mainly for WoW-related stuff, and I pretty much only follow accounts that post about WoW and gaming, so it's kinda funny when I occasionally log on and see somehow say something rather insightful about like how fash organize or relate to each other. I'm like oh you too? lol

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.
