It is going to take years---years!---to rebuild the United States Department of Justice after Trump is gone from office. A jewel of the justice system has been emptied out of institutional knowledge and wisdom.
This rules so hard. In law school I remember people who wanted to be federal prosecutors spending three years doing everything they could to be maybe, possibly be competitive for an AUSA job someday. Now you just need to hop on X the everything app and DM a guy named Chad.

Los Angeles was ground zero for Trump’s war on immigrants and his abuse of power. Now, Minnesotans exercising their First Amendment rights are being violently suppressed by his secret police — leaving people dead.

Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller must resign.

DM me? We used to get hundreds of highly qualified applicants for a single job posting. Good prosecutors are increasingly hesitant to work for this DOJ.

🚨TONIGHT’S PROTEST IN MINNEAPOLIS IS INSANE:

CNN is STUNNED. Share this widely!

“I've covered many protests… I've not seen a crowd like this before.” It’s 8 degrees. “It is freezing, but nothing, nothing is stopping these people.”

This isn’t a rally. It’s a movement. @calltoactivism.bsky.social

I met Ian outside the Whipple Building in Mpls last week, where he was protesting ICE. I was blown away by his vulnerability, by how deeply he—a 6-time combat vet—feels like his nation is under attack. I just learned that he was among those arrested by federal officials for protesting at the church.
Ian Austin, an Army veteran, was arrested for protesting ICE in Minneapolis. But he’s continued protesting. Senior reporter @julialurie.bsky.social spoke to him.

“When they say, ‘Why would you be out here?’ How the fuck could I not be out here?” he says. “My nation is under attack."

Before I posted this, the Colorado Sun posted video of an ICE officer stealing the phone of a white woman who had been recording him. He grabbed her & throw her down a hill. Authoritarianism was never ever going to stop at the color line, but white folks didn't believe it. Do they believe it now?

Ossoff: "This is a seismic event. This should have people across the country absolutely shook. This is a huge deal. This is an FBI raid on the Fulton County Elections office ... This is a shot across the bow at the midterm elections. He tried to steal power when he lost it in 2020."

We’re just not a free country.

Any American watching this play out between regime forces and journalists overseas would recognize it for what it is.

Here's the really cool thing about this image:

It contains, for now, the farthest known galaxy, ever.

MoM-z14 is so far away, its light has been travelling for more than 13 billion years. We're seeing it as it appeared only 280 million years after the Universe formed.

I mean, holy shit.

RAND PAUL: If a country bombed our air defense missiles, captured & removed our president, & blockaded our country, would that be considered an act of war?

RUBIO: We just don't believe this operation comes anywhere close to the constitutional definition

PAUL: Of course it would be an act of war!
