"Antifa has been around in various iterations for almost 100 years in some instances, going back to the Weimar Republic in Germany."

How is this repeatedly made into a policy issue - by *all* parties - when the blunt fact of the matter is that grown adults who are obliged to pay for their own education, and relentlessly pursued to repay their loans, should be able to study whatever the fuck they want.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

The Trump Show - sick.

Wonderful if the slaughter now ceases and hostages are released but thousands and thousands were allowed to die by an unhinged narcissist who could've ended this human tragedy long ago.

Trump isn't worth the Nobel Peace Prize.

America but same principle. Don't forget, the tech bro's who own these things are all dead set against socialism, and here it is giving them a free service which is stretching the public tax to the limit.

Nothing exists without the public paying for it.

Thing is, they're right to be worried. Older folk have comprehensively let them down and created a world that's increasingly hard to live in.

Time for a massive windfall tax, it's time for the banks to pay us back for all the help they had.

The UK's four largest banks (HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds, and NatWest) are on track to report record £48 billion profits in 2025.
What do bankers think of a windfall tax on the banks?

Trump: "I don't know what could be worse than Portland. You don't even have stores anymore. They don't even put glass up. They put plywood on their windows."

Lets be honest, taking a bicycle on a train is an absolute pain in the arse, even folding ones. It’s difficult to get them on and off, the storage is extremely poor, and buying tickets is way too complicated.

It didn’t need to be this way, that used to put them in a guards van. Wide doors, simple

Doesn't that mean your industry is based on theft and therefore actually criminal in basis, and that therefore it should be killed?

No sudden rupture is now required for the far right to take power in this country. For what we're seeing is a steady normalisation of extremists by the Conservative and Labour Parties, BBC, Telegraph, Mail and others. A shift once considered unthinkable beings to look acceptable, even inevitable.🧵

Not 'could' - it HAS decriminalised bike theft. But it's been this way for years, have y'all just not been paying attention when we've been complaining that cops won't even check security footage? BTP see cyclists as a nuisance.
luketaylorld.bsky.social
British Transport Police's decision to not investigate bike thefts outside train stations where bikes have been left for more than two hours is really concerning. It could effectively decriminalise it.

Together with Lib Dem colleagues I've written to the BTP to get clarity.

So there's no plan to bring Israeli leaders to trial for genocide then?

You can lock up as many people as you want for chanting or protesting against genocide.

You will never scrub away the truth about that genocide - or your own complicity in it.

You are just ensuring that you will be damned all the more for what you have done.

Black currant sorbet is exactly as simple as you think it'll be. Water, currants, sugar, cook and serve, make it just a little too sweet because when chilled you numb the flavour a bit, freeze, stir, freeze, stir.

Also, I make black current sorbet which I layer with vanilla. Home made vanilla ice cream can be other worldly good.

There is nothing Badenoch cares more about than hating trans people so of course she has to throw that in and of course she does it in the crassest, thickest, most nonsensical way possible
sturdyalex.bsky.social
Badenoch: "While Britain was redefining what a woman is, China built five nuclear reactors."

A perfect summary of conservative idiocy. Glorifying authoritarian post-communism for its efficiency while vilifying democracy for seeking nuance and respect.

It is the Right who hate their own countries.
gnomeicide.bsky.social
I think the problem here is that many Tories get qualifications without actually learning anything so, as such, they see education as a means to N end. Learning is of value just in itself.
ottoenglish.bsky.social
Badenoch and Co see education only as a means to a massive income in some soul destroying career.

Devoid of imagination and the power of knowledge they view life entirely through the prism of the CV.

My advice always is to study what interests you and the rest will follow
