Yesterday I watched The Fly (1986) for the first time and loved it. I typically don't react strongly to gore, but there were several moments that caused me to utter aloud "eww, gross." Today, I'm thinking about how stupid the effects would have been if they had been computer-generated.

So jazzed about this new release, a collection of four Dan Curtis-produced episodes of ABC's Wide World of Mystery. We watched an episode with George Maharis over the weekend. It was great!
On a TV, a blu-ray title screen with an illustration of a woman screaming. It reads "Dan Curtis' Late Night Mysteries"

So glad you are healthy and well and cancer-free, friend! I got my first mammogram a couple of weeks ago. I was scared to get it done but it wasn't painful and my scans are all clear ❤️

In 11 years of being in DC, including several years of being a daily metro commuter, I have never had a problem on any metro train or bus. They are lying, they know they're lying, and the target is an audience that can't tell the difference and never will be able to.

I rode the metro as a child in the 1990s when the murder rate was several times higher than it is now bsky.app/profile/joel...

Rep. Lisa McClain, on CNN, praising President Trump for deploying the National Guard to Washington:

"My daughter could actually ride the Metro for the first time since she has been in DC."

Reporting to work to serve the American people, as usual. My agency is still funded, so the work marches on.

So, it’s the 57th anniversary of the first showing of Night of the Living Dead, in Pittsburgh, when a movie made for a little over $100,000 created (according to Jason Paul Collum, author of ‘Assault of the Killer B’s’) “a permanent shift in modern horror cinema”
Lobby card for Night of the Living Dead, featuring stills from the film, including screaming faces, arm biting, and marauding zombies generally. At the top, the tagline: THEY WON’T STAY DEAD!
