In last year's @goldencobra.bsky.social awards, I think there were a few games about parenting, because one of the categories was "Best game that lets children be present". We put that in to encourage games that let parents play, but parenting often became the subject.

i think the fact that a lot of internet art scenes are and have been traditionally anti-commercial is big part of why a lot of them never have permeated into the dominant culture. so i definitely think this will be a big axis that whatever counterculture happens will hinge on, if it happens.

The next avant garde movement will need to be anti-consumer and anti-commercial, and I don't think any of us are ready for that when we have been fighting so long to justify ourselves in a culture thats main value is money
