Ugh. Just found out they’re making a fourth Metroid, which would be exciting news, but they outsourced it to some random American company and are changing it from a sidescroller to a FPS, the most creatively bankrupt of genres. I was hoping after Smash that Samus would be back for real. Guess not :/

the reason the wii feels retro while the ps3 and 360 don't is because the latter had major os updates throughout their lifetime up until the early 2010s that fundamentally changed their ui/ux, particularly for xbox. the reality is that the ux paradigm for consoles hasn't really changed since then
